Getting into music....

Hey, so i've not blogged lately. I've been out shooting, in the studio shooting and having alot of fun with it.
I've been working on some polaroid images in my studio, I'm loving the rz67 with the polaroid back. I'm going out with it this week so i'll be posting more this weekend.
I'm getting into music photography, shooting at a local venue near where I live. Here are two images from my first gig The Joy Formidable. The lighting was so dark so i'm going to crank up the ISO at the next gig and embrace the grain.... Let me know what you think, any tips would be much appreciated.

What are you waiting for?

This is just a random photo i took but when I looked at it I started to think about how I interpreted it. Waiting? Standing in line for something to happen, a new job? a lottery win? Life to pass us by?..... It made me think further. I love my life and want everything it throws at me.

Someone else will look at this and it will mean something completely different, or maybe even nothing....that's the power and beauty of photography! :-)

New Additions to the family..

I've two new additions to the family that I am trying to be patient about arriving.
A Mamiya RZ67 Pro II with a 90mm lens and 120 back, and i've just ordered a polaroid back for it. 7-10 days and my baby will be with me. I can't describe how excited I am! :-) Having a film option as well as digital is something i've wanted to a while now. I love film. Can't wait to get back to basics with a manual camera.
I also have ordered a Canon 24mm Tilt & shift L series lens. i can't see me using it much for correction purposes, mainly to get creative with. I love the results I have seen and in two days it will be introduced to my Canon 5d Mark II. I can see a beautiful relationship blossoming :-)
All I need now is to find something i've never had.....patience!

'Big Lights will Inspire you'

It's hard to list my favourite places in New York. I loved Brooklyn, Coney Island and it's wonder wheel, the famous pastrami sandwiches at Katz's deli. Madison square garden, the huge Gatorade boxes to the lights on the ceiling in the theatre. The street dancers in West village. The mail boxes, street signs, Dylan's Candy store (spent way too much in there)...I could go on forever. I wont :-) I'll leave it here with a few more images.

New York, New York

I've only made two visits to New York now but from the moment I got there I fell in love with the city. A fantastic place to photograph. The food, shopping, people, sights and atmosphere. I would love to go back to visit more often. A lottery win is much needed right now. Here are a few images....

Tunnel Vision

This year I have set myself many goals with photographic projects I have planned. I have two weddings booked, portrait shoots, live gigs and a few band location shoots. I want to work more on location with my Bowens lighting set up and try and get as much out of them as I can.
i am also going back to film with a few personal projects and polaroid also.
I love creating work for other people, especially seeing how happy they are with the finished product but I just love the process of the initial idea in my head, putting it on paper through to the finished image.
if only we didn't need sleep..I could get so much more done :-)
